‘Daonda Auto Glass Cup National Special Forces Martial Arts Championship: ’Non-Face-to-Face Online Martial Arts Tournament' Held
The nation's first non-face-to-face online martial arts competition will be held on December 5th this year. The ‘Daonda Auto Glass Cup National Special Forces Martial Arts Championship' is hosted by the Korea Special Forces Martial Arts Federation, organized by Daonda Auto Glass, and sponsored by Bridge Economy and the Suwon City Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities.
Participating dojangs must be members of the Korea Special Forces Martial Arts Federation. This non-face-to-face format involves submitting videos filmed at each dojang to the Federation for judging and awarding. Participating categories include sparring, forms (poomsae), and 2-3 person demonstrations. Regarding this, Lee Jae-cheon, CEO of Daonda Auto Glass, the event's sponsor, stated, “We decided to sponsor this to provide support to the youth training in special martial arts and their instructors nationwide during this difficult time of COVID-19.".
The pandemic has persisted since last February, preventing leisure activities. We hope young people with dreams of competitive sports will not forget their aspirations, even if only through non-face-to-face means,” he stated. Meanwhile, Choi Sang-hak, Chairman of the Korea Special Forces Martial Arts Federation, the event organizer, said, “Young people's motivation is declining due to COVID-19.".
”Although the event will be held in a non-face-to-face format, we will thoroughly inspect all safety measures for the event's operation and make every effort to ensure accident-free preparation to lead the event.".
