Daonda Auto Glass Wins Grand Prize for Character ‘Daoni’ Contest
Licensing News = Park Se-chang (Reporter) | Daonda Auto Glass (CEO Lee Jae-chun), a Korean automotive glass restoration and glass replacement company, announced on the 26th the grand prize winner of its character contest, Daoni.
The contest was designed to popularize glass restoration and replacement technology through friendly and cute characters as it is still unfamiliar to the public, and a total of 35 people participated in 34 days through crowdsourcing on a specialized platform for the contest. The key points for selection were a trustworthy design that can express a glass repair and replacement shop, and a creative design of a robot or human figure that can recognize an auto glass shop.Meanwhile, glass restoration technology restores damaged surfaces caused by stones thrown during driving without first replacing them at a high cost. It is evaluated as an eco-friendly and economical technology because there is no waste generated when replacing and the cost savings is about a quarter.
Lee Jae-chun, CEO of Daonda Auto Glass, told us, “We wanted to spread public awareness of the glass restoration field. In particular, we chose a cute but simple character so that people of all ages can easily recognize the brand image.
We will make it easy to meet them in various places through applications such as branch printing, emoticons, and merchandise.”Grand Prize winner Bible Soo Kim (Design Weldon) said, “We tried to highlight Daonda Auto Glass's technology and corporate image.
”The glass on the face makes it more recognizable, and we used applied motion and restoration to make it look professional.
